Low-calorie sweets
Sweets are my worst enemy when I am trying to stick
to a routine. Because of this I have tried to discover a way to beat these
cravings with tasty treats with low calories. Although these are okay to
incorporate sometimes, let’s not go overboard and decide to overindulge because
we all know anything and everything adds up.
A few of my personal favorites include:
1. Rice
Cakes. My all time favorite snack! Rice cakes come in sweet flavors as well as
salty so try them all out. My favorites are the apple cinnamon and chocolate.
You can even go one step further and add almond butter to them if you are
feeling rebellious. Each rice cake is around 40-60 calories
2. Light and fit Yogurt. This is a great snack that is also sweet, sometimes I like to try
different flavors and experiment with add ins like fruit and granola.
3. Starbucks Iced Latte and Frappuccino. If you are having a mid-afternoon sweet
craving, blended drinks have few calories with the creaminess of rich
indulgences, with much fewer calories and no fat provided. Order it tall with
non-fat milk and many contain less than 200 calories.
4. Jell-o
chocolate pudding snacks/ sugar free & fat free jell-o. I feel that
chocolate is part of a daily diet plan for me sometimes, and even more so a certain
time of each month. Although a pan of brownies sounds great, it can really
burden my body and my plan. The pudding snacks can satisfy your need for
chocolate while keep your calorie count down with only 60 calories per cup
while the box pudding holds calories per
5. Dole
Banana Dippers. Bananas I always use for smoothies or just an afternoon snack.
Now Dole has frozen bananas dipped in chocolate and covered in almonds for a
little crunch. Each pack contains 120 calories. Packs without almonds only have 100 calories.
6. Animal
Crackers. A small handful of animal crackers isn’t just for the kindergartners,
adults can enjoy these tiny animal cookies, but if you start playing with them,
there might be a problem .about 16 crackers is just about 120 calories and only
7g of sugar.
7. Outshine
Fruit popsicles. I love fruit and these frozen bars are made from real fruit
juice and no added sugar. Just 70 calories per bar, and different flavors such
as mango, strawberry, lemon, and blueberry.
